Valium Village is a Vine account from reality TV editor Michael Bellizzi. Michael takes snippets of bizarre English language-learning videos and sex-ed tapes from the ’80s and early ’90s, edited into six-second stories seemingly ripped right from after-school specials. In that style, the vines are surreal—low-budget camerawork, awkward acting, odd non-sequitur scenes taken out of context—and mostly quiet, with an underlying tension that’s likened the “Village" to a soap opera town, where there’s relationship drama over pot smoking, confusing condom advice, and and mundane moments turned into existential dread in the spotlight.
