Objectives

As Gen Z moves more toward closed conversations with friends on messaging apps, traditional social channels are losing ground. To combat losing traction with this important audience for Trolli, it became clear that we needed to find a way to enter these closed conversations in an authentic, useful and meaningful way in order to stay top of mind with our target demographic. Enter the Trolli–branded emoji, sticker and GIF keyboard.

Strategy and Execution

We partnered with Snaps to create a unique, engaging and weirdly awesome keyboard that our demographic would find funny, weird and useful in conversations with friends and family via text or messenger app. Now, instead of communicating feelings or reactions as text, the trend is to use emojis or GIFs — everything summed up in one picture. The TrolliMoji keyboard app is available for iOS and Android.

With TrolliMojis, those who have downloaded the app have every conversation in the bag in the most weirdly awesome way with mini emojis, extreme stickers and gummi GIFs. Because sometimes — scratch that, ALL the time — you need gummies to express your deepest, weirdest feelings. Designed to be used when you seriously need a corn dog — or at any other important moment in your life.

Trolli was the first brand in the gummi category to create a keyboard app, leading the charge into the great text message game.
