The Shorty Interview with Kristen Daukas

In what ways do you waste the most time on social media?

finding new tweeps and blogs to read and follow. I wish I had more time to find more!

As a parent, coach, or role model tell us: How do you use social media to help others focus on all that is good in their lives? Don't forget to submit a nomination for the #KeepGoodGoing award!

I started a site just for parents of #teens and #tweens called Ten to Twenty Parenting as well as run a series of parenting boot camps.

How has social media improved your life?

Can't even begin to quantify it. I've met people that I could have never met in real life before social media.

What's the most annoying social media trend?

Biography

Once upon a time, 10 years ago to be exact, I started a website called Four Hens and a Rooster. Why? Because I had little kids and family who lived far, far away. One day, many years later, those little kids were suddenly tweens and teens and I realized that I had no idea what I was doing. Who were these people living in my house and what had they done with my toddlers? Dazed and confused, I realized that just like when I started my "mommy" blog so long ago, I needed information on what to do with these fabulous kids with new challenges. So, I went to the internet to find parenting resources to help me with teens and tweens and that's when I discovered something. There was very few sites to help me raise teens and tweens. So, I did what any parent would do. I started my own site and called it Ten to Twenty Parenting. Here, parents can find help and humor for making it thru the teen and tween years.

How do you or your organization use social media? What makes your use unique?

I live and breathe social media. From Twitter to Facebook to Google+ to Pinterest - no site is safe from me. People get their information from so many different places that you can't rely on just one resource.
